Our first official Agility Titles!

Look what we got in mail yesterday!
Lusha is now officially ACT2 Title holder!

Now we waiting for York dog show photos and...
For delivery of our spring litters.
Not too long to wait, but so far they are not on ground
safe and sound,
I'll post nothing. Do not even ask.

Also.. later this week we have another agility trial with Lusha,
and if we make it here (considering the fact of puppies can arrive any time),
she might get her third Q for her first JWW Title.
If not - it will be another time for that Q.

Sooo... much is going on. Stay tuned for updates!

York dog show cluster 2017.

After some x-amount of digging we got my car out.
But it was no way to bring it down to our back yard
to pick up all stuff and dogs.
Therefore we used JR's shuttle services -
Jim put into good use his UTV
and was daily getting everybody in and out...
Whatever works!

Long story short - show cluster went well.
Baby Josie got some good ring practice
and collected beautiful ribbons and even really beautiful
big rosette for the Puppy Group 4th placement.

Lusha did outstandingly well and went two days
Best Of Breed and other two days -
Best Of Opposite Sex to Best Of Breed.
She had another major win on Saturday
and went Owner/Handled Group 2 as well.
She mean business!

Dora on other hand did very well on day one,
but no so well other 3 days.
We figured she need more ring time and as result
she will be going to the Club as often as we can take her.
I think she is getting idea - shows are good
and fun. Not sure why she forgot about it.
She was perfect in December, but...
she is Xolo and doesn't need reasoning to do what she does.

And of course our puppy Rosie also need her ring practice,
therefore she makes company to Dora
in our Club outings.

Now we will have few weeks without shows,
but in April girls are going back to the ring
and Lusha has more of agility trials too...
I believe she is starting to really like those...
and she is getting very good in it too...

Stay tuned to her adventures!

To York... or not to York?...

Our first show cluster of the season is coming up this week...
and of course we got a fluffy little blizzard!
First and only blizzard of this winter, but trust me it was enough.
All show thing was under big question mark,
but look like "they over there" figure it out and only canceled ONE day
out of five days cluster.
We over here also figured it out
and dig out our cars and ready to go.
Meanwhile dogs had no care in the world
and had great time in cozy warm house!
Just look at Awwa playing with her puppies
and You will know they are very comfortable!...
Best part - we didn't get any power outages this time. Good times, good times!

More fun with agility.

This Monday right before the storm we went
for another agility trial with Lusha.
Our Diva made herself comfortable and pretty much
slept on our lap most of the time before her run

...and how can You resist her really ?!..

Regardless of her lazy attitude when it was her time to go,
she woke up just fine and went and did great!
Another clean run of 100 with second placement in her class!..
Go Lusha!

Our ACT agility tests.

Long story short - all went well!
Not like it was simple, but a bit more relaxed then regular trials.
However Lusha had to do 4 runs and normally we do not do more then one..
Therefore I wasn't very surprised to see her getting tired by the end of third run.
But she finished well that one and one more...
and ended up with all 4 Qs!
What mean we have two new Agility titles
and ready to move on "standard" equipment.
As soon Lusha finishes her "Jumper With Weavers" (JWW)
or Standard Novice title she will be eligible for her
Versatility Dog Award, issued by
American Miniature Schnauzer Club.
To receive that award dog has to have titles at at list 3 different disciplines
and meet specific points requirements. She is almost there.
Sooo... here is our first run for AKC ACT1.
Irina recorded whole thing, so far we with Lusha were running.

And below is one of two ACT2 courses we did.
A bit different obstacles vs ACT1.

We both enjoyed it... I love my little lady!
Go, Lusha!

.. and more of agility practice with Lusha!...

Last practice before our ACT trial.
We even took effort to set tire jump
(for the first time, she never done it before).
Not a problem, just one more jump!..
I believe we are ready for Monday evening.
We will keep You updated on what will happen there...

Getting ready for ACT !

ACT1 and ACT2 are new AKC tests for dogs, who are just starting in agility.
ACT stands for "Agility Course Test" and two test levels are available.
Both those test requiring dog to work on so called "standard equipment"
what is including various contact obstacles.
Unlikely Jumpers trails, what we did before,
dog has to work teeter (seesaw), A-frame and several other things,
what are new for Lusha.
This upcoming Monday we going to try out what she learned
and hopefully pass both ACT levels...
We believe she is ready, but You never know till trial.
Stay tuned!
