Dog shows and more.

 This summer we had plenty of fun showing some of our youngest

show starts. Josefina "Josie" was in a lead

with attending more shows then the rest.

So far she has the biggest collection of "reserve winner" ribbons

we ever had on a dog. I hope soon it is about to change into

"winner" ribbons collection.

She is fun to show (photo above).

 Our "Time Girls" - Manya and Tory 

also hit the show grounds for the first time and did very well.

Currently we are working on their coats

to bring them into perfect condition, instead of

puppy coats.

Those two are my show plan for upcoming 2018 year.

And of course there is the Eddy!...

Growing up and potentially will be shown few times

later in a season.

Currently we are working on his coat too..

Our Prima Donna - "Lusha"

finishing her 2017 show season and quickly approaching 

big mile stone of becoming AKC Bronze Level Grand Champion.

She also was awarded with prestigious

American Miniature Schnauzer Club

Versatility Award

what is only given to the dogs who achieved excellence

in several different performance fields...

At Lusha's case it will be Conformation shows,

Agility and Obedience.

Only a few dogs receive this Club's Award every year

and in 2017 Lusha is one of those few.

And the year is not over yet...

Perhaps we soon to add Barn Hunt Novice title

to her impressive collection!

As for our non-schnauzers crew...
Our beautiful Dora received her first major in Macungie, PA.
We love You, girl!

Meanwhile Gigi was having fun performing in agility
and got her first let on her first ever run
with the perfect score of 100 and being top of the class!

Long no see... I'm again behind on my blogging, am I ?..

It was very busy summer with dogs and things...

Really do not know where even to start.

All right, let start from some bragging..

This season we decided it is time to work on Chant getting his Championship.

We had him shown before off and on for during last two years,

 but frankly, I was concentrating on Lusha and her achievements...

Now it was time to bring out thee good old boy and get "IT" done!

And so we did!

Introducing new AKC Champion

Shazzam Of Oz Enchanter - AKA "Chant".

Who also happened to earn him CGC title, Rally Novice AND Barn Hunt Instinct!

As I mentioned above Enchanter was only busy being pretty,

 but also went out to get his Canine Good Citizen Test, attended
"Meet Thee Rat" workshop at Bella Vista training Center

 and went for his first Barn Hunt Trial

 at Ice Bern Farm, PA.

He earned his Instinct Title from the first try, 

as well as first qualifying score at Novice Class.

Lusha's news are coming up next!

New Castle show cluster.

Last week Jim and I went for our longest-ever show cluster

at New Castle, PA.

Weather was challenging, we also had serious equipment malfunction 

on show grounds and our RV had good chance to burn down.

 Fortunately we ended up only with some roof damage

and nobody got hurt.

This is the most important part.

Regardless of all issues we put 3 more Majors on Lusha - 

GCH Shazzam Of Oz Tactical Solution,

what brings her to total of 60 points toward her

GR. Champion Bronze Level.

Taking few weeks of break now.

No shows... Taking care of puppies, grooming etc.

There is always more to do here with dogs then anybody could think

(including even my dear husband,

God Bless his Soul!).

Currently Jim is on RV fixing quest.

I'm getting group of young dogs ready for summer show season

and trying to catch up on many other things...

Including computer stuff.

Do not know how to start... But what a week!
Two weeks in fact...
First we went to small show in VA with 3 dogs -
Lusha, Awwa and their little sister Josie...
Girls did very well. Lusha went Best Of Breed one day
and Best of Opposite the other day.
Awwa got winner bitch and Josie reserve of winners.
Weather was not the easiest, so no pictures from that weekend...
Right on return Lusha and I went to Agility trials.
First day she had a blond moment and dropped off the bar resulting in NQ.
Second day she went like a PRO and was best it her class with her first Q
in Agility Novice Standard.

Here she sits, all proud of herself on a back of my SUV.

After trials we had to get ready for big show cluster in Harrisburg, PA,

what is our "thee most local show".

We had 4 dogs entered - same 3 ladies stated above

and Dora, our Xolo pup.

It was... much work I have to say, but we did well.

Bunch of ribbons, several placements, but most importantly 

Lusha picked up two majors and completed her final requirement

for getting her GR Champion Title!

Our friends did very well too and finished several dogs over this cluster.

It was great to see everybody happy and smiling.

York dog show cluster 2017.

 After some x-amount of digging we got my car out.

But it was no way to bring it down to our back yard

to pick up all stuff and dogs.

Therefore we used JR's shuttle services -

Jim put into good use his UTV

and was daily getting everybody in and out...

Whatever works!

 Long story short - show cluster went well.

Baby Josie got some good ring practice

and collected beautiful ribbons and even really beautiful

big rosette for the Puppy Group 4th placement.

 Lusha did outstandingly well and went two days

Best Of Breed and other two days -

Best Of Opposite Sex to Best Of Breed.

She had another major win on Saturday

and went Owner/Handled Group 2 as well.

She mean business!

Dora on other hand did very well on day one,

but no so well other 3 days.

We figured she need more ring time and as result

she will be going to the Club as often as we can take her.

I think she is getting idea - shows are good

and fun. Not sure why she forgot about it.

She was perfect in December, but...

 she is Xolo and doesn't need reasoning to do what she does.

And of course our puppy Rosie also need her ring practice,

therefore she makes company to Dora

in our Club outings.

Now we will have few weeks without shows, 

but in April girls are going back to the ring

and Lusha has more of agility trials too...

I believe she is starting to really like those...

and she is getting very good in it too...

To York... or not to York?...

Our first show cluster of the season is coming up this week...

and of course we got a fluffy little blizzard!

First and only blizzard of this winter, but trust me it was enough.

All show thing was under big question mark,

but look like "they over there" figure it out and only canceled ONE day

out of five days cluster.

We over here also figured it out

and dig out our cars and ready to go.

Meanwhile dogs had no care in the world

and had great time in cozy warm house!

Just look at Awwa playing with her puppies

and You will know they are very comfortable!...

Best part - we didn't get any power outages this time. Good times, good times!

Just a bit more of end-of-the-year bragging...

......Juuust at case if You wander what Xolo is doing there....

This blog is strategically called "Miniature Schnauzers etc."

Xolo is IT. She is our ETC. Not only ETC, but one of it...

Few days ago we received all new pictures from Philadelphia 

show cluster at Oaks, PA.

This included picture of Dora, our Xolo pup.

We did very limited showing with Dora this fall, actually al it was

- two weekends, however it was enough for her to collect

5 AKC Championship points, several owner/handled

Breed wins and even one Group placement...

 She did well indeed, our baby girl and we love all about it,

including the grooming part.

After dealing with ring prep for miniature schnauzers, this feels unreal...

 I mean it feels so good, it can not be true...

Just kidding!

On other hand - Lusha...

finished her AKC Championship from Bred/By Class owner/handled.
 Collected 28 Grand Champion points up to date.
 Sharing #10 position Nation-Wide for Owner/Handled Miniature Schnauzers.
Currently holding #3 position in State of Pennsylvania

for 2016 Grand Champion points ranking....
The ONLY owner-handled dog on a way to Grand Championship in PA

who also has working titles on her.
We had a great year with Lusha and currently working on her first Agility Title.

Way to go, girl!

Shows and trials.

 Last week we were getting ready to two events - Agility trial

and conformation show in Oaks, PA.

 Our puppy Dora was suppose to be shown indoors for the first time.

Therefore we took her to the training class for the first time,

to see how she will react... She was fascinated... with the mirror!

Agility was first thing to do... Coffee with the girls and off we go!

 Baby Dora finished both days with Winner Bitch.

We also went Owner-Handler Group 4!

 Lusha did remarkably well and and went Best Of Opposite Sex (BOS)

both days she was shown. Also she went OHG3.

Great weekend indeed! Many friends, much fun.

It might be our last conformation show for this year.

Season is coming to the end and this is fine...

Much to get ready to in 2017.

Beautiful weekend in MD.

 

 Last week Veronika and I grabbed  ourselves a few dogs and went

to visit out friends Bill and Claire on their farm at wild and beautiful WV.

Beside of spending great time with great people we also participated

at 4-days show cluster in Cumberland, MD,

just across of the river from our friends place.

 We made our camp at guys RV

and enjoyed privacy and very convenient stay.

Dogs did too!

Not only we had wonderful mini-vacations, but

returned back with some serious prizes on our 

"Grand-Champion To-Be".

Lusha went BOS first two days and GrCh SELect to others.

8 Grand Champion points in total collected at one weekend.

Only 6 more to go till her Majesty will obtain her new Title!

Beside of all dog adventures I got to do some painting too...

 Weather was staying good for the first few days

and we with Claire enjoyed some outdoor sketching!

Next weekend- another show....

Meanwhile - enjoying my time home with family.

Girls need some rest too, yes, Lusha?...

Montgomery County All Terrier working trial 2016.

 This year our dogs went on a road trip to be a part of 

Montgomery County All Terrier working trial 2016.

"Are we there yet?.."

 So what this event is about?

Nothing much. :-) Simply bunch of working terriers and their parents

from all over North America getting together to have some fun

and compete in various disciplines from Obedience and Agility

to Barn Hunt and Lure Coursing.

Full week filled with adventures.

This year we only participated one day and it was only one Rally trial.

But it was 4 dogs, with 4 Qs, 3 placements and two finished Titles.

Not bad for one trial!

This wonderful lady came up with the most complicated and fun

Rally maps we ever saw... Never-less,

Lusha (left) managed to get top in the class score of 96
and finished her Rally Excellent Title.
Gigi (left) got her last "leg" and completed her Rally Novice Title.
Chant got first leg in Rally advance with score of 98
and third placement in his division.
Roy was a real trooper to go to the ring first,
and regardless of all destructions, got his first qualifying score
for the Excellent level.
He also got third placement in his class, same like Chant.
We met many old friends, saw many beautiful (and very smart!) dogs
 and came back home feeling accomplished.
On Sunday to the conformation show we go!..
This is "THEE SHOW" of the Year,
what everybody terrier lover looking forward too.
Over 100 miniature schnauzers signed up to compete in 2016
in regular rings and sweepstakes.
Hope to return from there with even more ribbons...
